Best floor-rising ALR projector screens: the shortlist
1NothingProjector Black Series — best overall fit for this site’s use case
Current merchant specifications list 0.6 gain, 170° viewing angle, 84–130″ sizes, motorized floor-rising operation, smart-control compatibility and a 95% ALR claim. It is designed for UST projectors only.

Current official specs also list 0.6 gain and 170° viewing angle, plus RF/app/voice/trigger control. It belongs on any serious shortlist because the format and use case closely overlap the Black Series.
3Elite Screens floor-rising CLR family — established specialist route
Elite Screens has offered floor-rising CLR products such as Kestrel variants. Current Kestrel CLR 5 listings target larger sizes and use different material specifications, so compare the exact current model rather than assuming it is a direct one-for-one substitute.
How we rank this category
We prioritize six things: correct projector compatibility, optical surface, room fit, tensioning, control reliability and support. Price matters, but a cheaper screen that does not match the projector geometry is not value.
1. Correct ALR direction
UST ALR/CLR screens are directional. The material is designed to accept light rising from a projector positioned close below the screen while absorbing or redirecting light from other angles. That is why “ALR” is not a universal label that makes every screen compatible with every projector.
2. Tension and flatness
UST projectors exaggerate surface waves because light hits the screen at a steep angle. Tab tensioning and stable side supports are therefore more important than they are with many long-throw setups.
3. Mechanical repeatability
A floor-rising screen should stop in the same place repeatedly. Even small height changes can disturb UST alignment. Remote-adjustable stop points and rigid support mechanisms are practical features, not luxuries.
4. Full chassis dimensions
A 120-inch diagonal does not mean the housing is 120 inches wide. You need the complete product dimension table and space for power connections, furniture and ventilation. This is one reason we consolidate sizing advice in a dedicated 84–130 inch screen guide.
Who should choose the Black Series?
Choose it when you want a UST-only screen that disappears, you value a broad size range, and the current merchant configuration fits your console and projector placement. If you can permanently dedicate a wall, read our floor-rising vs fixed-frame comparison before paying for the motorized mechanism.

See Current Price & SizesWhat we intentionally do not rank
We do not publish a 20-product list padded with generic models just to make the page longer. A floor-rising UST ALR screen is a narrow product class. A focused shortlist is more useful than pretending every motorized projector screen is a true substitute.
