UST Projector Screen Setup: Placement, Alignment & Floor-Rising Screen Tips

A physical-first setup sequence for UST projectors and floor-rising ALR screens, designed to reduce geometry problems before you reach for digital correction.

Setup order matters: stabilize the screen first, then level the projector, then adjust distance and height, and only use digital geometry correction as a last resort.

1. Place the screen case

Put the floor-rising chassis in its final location on a stable, level surface. If the case can rock, every deployment can change alignment. Leave access for power and enough clearance for the screen to rise unobstructed.

2. Raise the screen to its normal stop height

Use the screen’s normal control sequence. For the Black Series, the merchant states that the maximum height is preset and warns against exceeding that limit. Treat the final stop height as part of the optical geometry.

3. Level the UST projector

Start with the projector physically level left-to-right and front-to-back. If one corner is high, do not immediately reach for keystone correction; first fix the projector’s physical angle.

4. Set image width with distance

Move the projector toward or away from the screen according to the projector’s throw chart. Tiny movements can create large image-size changes with UST optics.

5. Set vertical position with height

Adjust projector height or furniture height so the image lands within the screen’s active area. Avoid tilting the projector upward or downward if a height change can solve the problem.

6. Fine-tune edge alignment

Work in small physical adjustments. If the top is wider than the bottom, or one side is taller, the projector is not square to the screen. Solve that mechanically before applying digital correction.

7. Configure trigger or smart control

The Black Series listing includes a wireless projector trigger and smart/voice-control options. Once alignment is stable, automation can make the screen rise as part of the viewing routine. Test several cycles to confirm the screen stops in the same place.

8. Calibrate with the screen in place

An ALR surface changes the optical system. Re-run brightness, grayscale and color adjustments after the screen is installed rather than keeping settings created for a wall or different material.

Important: the Black Series merchant page says not to manually exceed the factory-set maximum height and warns that improper adjustment may cause image waves or distortion. Follow the current product manual/support guidance for any stop-height changes.
